Yes, however for interns whose internship company does not provide accommodation or interns who wish to stay in accommodation other than that provided by the intern company Internships Thailand can organize a range of accommodation options for interns. • Your own bed and wardrobe.
  • A private bathroom / toilet.
  • Linen will be provided.
  • Most host companies will also provide free laundry.

What to do about travel health insurance in another country?

Although not mandatory, applicants are strongly advised to have their own travel/medical and personal liability insurance during their internship and their stay in Thailand. Internships Thailand has partnered with one of the world’s leading insurance providers for young travelers and can arrange this for the intern to meet all specific requirements.

When do you have to pay the airport pickup fee?

You can pay at the same time you pay for the deposit, if the hotel doesn’t provide it, but in most cases the hotel will provide the airport pick up.

If a participant gets a visa denial, how much is the refund?

We have never had this problem as getting a visa to Thailand is generally very easy. However we will offer a 100% refund in this case unless the reason for the refusal is due to character issues.

How long does the placement process take?

Usually we require at least 10 weeks. However, if you need to be placed within less than 10 weeks, we can offer our express service. The charge for express service is 10,165 Baht (included VAT) and placement will be done within 4 weeks after receiving deposit.

Can an Intern choose to start when they wish?

Yes, you decide when to start and the duration of your internship.

Can an Intern choose the hotel of his/her choice to complete the Internship?

No, but we guarantee to find an internship that will be the perfect match to fit your requirements.

What if the intern changes his/her mind about the location of the Internship?

No, once we receive your complete application documents and deposit, we will start the placement process.

If a candidate is unsatisfied with the position we offer, do we arrange a new placement?

We only make one offer to the applicant. This will match the applicant’s requirement as written on their application documents and as per their comments during the Telephone interview / Skype interview. If the applicant refuses the internship offer because we made an obvious mistake in matching him/her with an internship then we will certainly look for another internship. However, for as long as our company exists, we have never experienced negative feedback from our interns.

What are the acceptance criteria for an internship?

  • Related study and / or practical experience in Hospitality and Tourism.
  • Adequate level of English (Any additional language is a plus).
  • Holder of the correct visa and adhere to relevant visa regulations with regards to work conditions.
  • Ability to perform required tasks physically.
  • Abide by the Internships Thailand program terms and conditions.

Do the interns have to have good knowledge of English?

The language of business in Thailand is English, so you must have a good knowledge of English to get along. We interview you via Skype or phone call to assess your English skills. This equates to IELTS score of 5 or an 'upper intermediate' level of conversational English. Please note there is no formal requirement to pass the IELTS. This is merely an indication of required level.

Is there an age limit for Internships Thailand?

The minimum age is 18 and although we do not have a maximum age, the program is really designed to offer young graduates and under-graduates the opportunity to get international work experience. So we would probably accept applicants until the age of 35 as long as they are currently studying or have just completed their studies.

How to apply for Internship in Thailand?

  • Send us your CV and a letter of Introduction via website or email
  • Completed application form.
  • A telephone or Skype video call interview to get to know you.
  • Any other documents required by Internships Thailand for the application. This may depend on the visa the intern intends to apply for.
  • Applicable deposit as specified.

What is Orientation?

All interns who arrive in Phuket are given a 1 hour orientation in our Internships Thailand office in Phuket, where they will be given information and guidance on all aspects of living in Thailand, and successfully participating in an internship. The orientations are once a week and should ideally be booked before interns arrives in the country.

What is a point of contact?

All of our interns have a 24/7 point of emergency contact should they need help with anything, as well as the opportunity to visit the Internships Thailand office within work hours and meet with any member of staff for support or advice related to their internship, accommodation, living in Phuket, or visa related issues.

What are the social activities?

The social activities are a great way to meet with other interns from around the world and make new friends. This is also our chance to get to know the interns better and to optimize their stay in Thailand. The social activity day is a monthly event which will be either an excursion to one of the many venues Phuket has to offer, a lunch or dinner at a great restaurant or an invitation to a cultural theme show.

I am very happy to be here, all my colleagues are very nice and friendly to me. I am having a great experience and chance to discover the beautiful country of Thailand. All the time in Phuket was unbelievable, I felt comfortable.

During my internship I developed on the one hand my English skills and my independence, on the other hand I’ve learned all about checking in, checking out, escorting customers to rooms, answering the inquiry from customers, and lots more ! This internship has been unforgettable.
